Ness Notes for August 25

The Dodgers continued to dominate the series, going 11-2 over the Red Sox tonight. LA also leads the series, with the Red Sox now down to expire. The D’backs and Braves are continuing to refuse to surrender, while the Reds and Royals are deadly at home, as well. For this weekend, I got a reprieve as I finished MLB’s first week of the season with a big win. While I didn’t cash on the White Sox (who are still 19-27), I did cash on the Twins, who opened the second half of the season by losing 13 of their first 14.

My MLB runs continue on Sunday’s with the Angels at the Rangers (10:05 ET). lumbung88 slot I have a free play on the Angels/Rangers game with the running dogs. I’m looking to bounce back from last night’s 0-3 SU and ATS singles, including a Cavalier loss last night, by going 2-0 with my plays. I also have a 15* AL Getaway Day Game of the Month and a 15* WMS Gaming Total Fraud.

The Pistons opened the playoffs by sweeping the proposed NBA Finals on Saturday, but the Heat remain the betting favorites in what figures to be a Finals rematch. Detroit is just 2-5 ATS in the conference finals this year (all SU wins were by 10 points or more), while Miami went 3-1 including a perfect ATS start last year. I look for the Heat in this series, despite the blowout loss on Sunday in Detroit. Could the Pacers go far in the West?

Tonight’s NBA card features just four games. The Pistons, who lost Game 3 in Detroit, to the Heat, are in Miami to play the Heat. Detroit is now 10-2 when playing the Heat in the playoffs and 6-1 in home games following a playoff run. Miami is favored by 8 1/2 points (179).

In the nightcap at 10:35 ET, the Spurs are in theHOU GAME. San Antonio is tied with Dallas for the final spot in the West’s playoff picture with a 41-11 record, however the Spurs do own a two-game lead on the Clippers with a record of 43-19. The Heat are back in Miami to host the Pistons (NBA-tv) after a 117-92 win in Game 3 on Saturday. The Spurs are favored by 8 1/2 points (192).

The nightcap of the NBA schedule is the Hawks at 7:05 ET in Atlanta against the Bucks. Bucks are favored by 8 1/2 points (215). The Hawks swept the regular season series against the Wizards (58-14) and have begun the postseason 0-3 SU and ATS. However, they have won two of the three and are the lone winless team in the NBA with an ATS mark of 0-2. The loss in Game 3 was the first for Atlanta in 67-77 and the team’s longest losing streak since a 13-5 mark in November of 1996.

Seattle is tied with Portland for the best record in the Northwest at 37-9 and the West’s No. 5 seed. The Northwest Division was the Wizards’ to handle, but the Blazers gained the East’s second seed as well by winning in San Antonio on Saturday, 93-87. Seattle is the league’s best “moneyline” team at plus-$4.6.

Tonight’s NBA has a three-game schedule. The Suns are in Portland to host the Blazers, the Mavs are in LA to play the Clippers and the Sonics are in Phoenix to host the Suns.

LA enters the playoffs with the best record in the NBA at 52-15. Like the Nuggets, the Lakers did not play last night and will play tonight before taking night off.

Portland Arthroplegic is the league’s only middle-of-the-road team at plus-$857. The Trail Blazers finished at 45-37 in the regular season and lost to the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

Tonight’s game is the Suns’ second game in three nights. The Sonics won (85-80) at Portland on Friday but lost at home tonight to the Spurs. Phoenix is in Portland tonight (10:05 ET) to play the Blazers.

Guth Joey Vu’s team continues to lead the Northwest Division but the Blazers have the assured the best of the Northwest.

The Suns have getting the better of the Blazers this season, having won nine of the 14 meetings. However, those games were before Phoenix had won nine straight games on the road. Regardless, the Suns are clearly a good defensive team and the Clippers none-the-less good defensive teams, holding the Suns to 93 points per game.

abling those defensive techniques has been the play of La Liga’s golden boyestro, Real Madrid.
